Careers
Want to work with the best in the business?
We are always open to having a chat with anyone, wherever you may be, that genuinely loves the business and wants to work with a superior product. Working at Prestons is an opportunity to learn from and work with the best in the business.
We don’t often get to offer career opportunities for new people, because our colleagues tend to stay with us, even on the very rare occasions that someone leaves, they tend to come back quite quickly. We are however about to open a new showroom in Wakefield, so if you want to get in on the ground floor and work with the best and you believe you can rise to our standards then give us a call on 03450 090 097 or email us on info@prestonskitchens.co.uk
We are not joking when we claim to be the best, work with us and you could be too.

Trainee Kitchen Design Consultant – Preston
Salary: £27,000
OTE: Up to £40,000 as you develop
Location: Preston
Benefits: Potential company vehicle, company pension, fair commission, genuine career progression, paid team socials and staff events.
We’re looking for a Trainee Kitchen Design Consultant to join our growing team at our brand-new Preston showroom, opening later this year.
You don’t need years of kitchen design experience - we’re looking for someone with the right attitude, great people skills and a genuine passion for design. We’ll provide the training and support to help you build a successful career designing beautiful German kitchens.
You’ll learn how to welcome customers into our showrooms, understand their lifestyle and needs, create stunning kitchen designs, and guide them through the entire journey from their first consultation to ordering their dream kitchen.
At Prestons, we’re passionate about more than just kitchens - we’re passionate about creating a workplace where people genuinely enjoy what they do.
This isn’t a high-pressure sales environment. Our reputation, premium German kitchens and consistent flow of enquiries mean you’ll have the time to learn properly, develop your skills and focus on creating great customer experiences.
This role will be based at our brand-new Preston showroom, opening later this year.
During the interview process, we’ll talk you through the showroom, expected opening dates, working hours and everything you need to know about the role, so you have a clear understanding before joining the team.
● Meeting customers and understanding their lifestyle, needs and vision.
● Designing beautiful, functional kitchens using Winner software.
● Creating detailed 3D designs and technical plans.
● Advising customers on layouts, appliances, materials and finishes.
● Managing each project from the initial consultation through to order.
● Delivering an outstanding customer experience every step of the way.
● Working alongside a friendly team who genuinely support each other.
● A genuine interest in design, interiors or home improvement.
● A friendly, confident personality and excellent communication skills.
● A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
● Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
● The ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
● Someone who cares about giving customers an exceptional experience, not simply making a sale.
● Previous customer service, retail, hospitality or sales experience would be an advantage, but isn’t essential.
● Salary: £27,000 with reviews as you progress
● On-target earnings of up to £40,000
● Full training in kitchen design, Winner software and our products.
● Ongoing mentoring and support from experienced designers.
● Potential company vehicle.
● Fair and honest commission structure that rewards delivering outstanding customer service - not simply the value of the sale.
● Work with a premium product that allows you to focus on designing exceptional kitchens rather than high-pressure selling.
● A vibrant working environment, with regular staff meals, seven-a-side football, quiz nights and team socials - all paid for.
● The chance to grow with us. We plan to open a new showroom approximately every 18 months, creating exciting opportunities for ambitious people with the right attitude.
● Company pension.
We’re big enough to offer real career opportunities, but small enough that everyone knows your name.
Everyone knows each other, chips in and has each other’s back. We work hard, have a laugh, and genuinely enjoy coming to work. Whether it’s seven-a-side football, regular team meals, activities or family events, we make time to get together outside of work too.
We’re designers first, not salespeople. There are no pushy sales scripts or pressure to sell the most expensive kitchen. Instead, we focus on creating exceptional kitchens, giving honest advice and making sure every customer has a brilliant experience.
We’re also serious about helping our people grow. You’ll work alongside experienced designers who know kitchens inside out, with ongoing training, mentoring and support to develop your skills. In fact, one of our team joined as a Junior Kitchen Designer and progressed to Showroom Manager in less than a year.
We like to keep things simple.
Just send us an email telling us a little about yourself, why you’d like to join the team and what interests you about the role. If you’ve got a CV, feel free to include it too - but we’re just as interested in your attitude and enthusiasm as your experience.
If it sounds like we’d be a good fit for each other, we’ll arrange an informal chat.
