Concrete Kitchens
Trends come and go like the seasons in home decor, but every so often, a trend enters the public psyche and completely reshapes how we think when we plan our living spaces. One such trend that has taken the design world (and us here at Prestons) by storm is the concrete kitchen. Making its way from urban architecture to interior design, the concrete kitchen craze has truly left its mark.
Overcoming preconceptions
While this may be true for some kitchen suppliers, they’re certainly not here at Prestons, as we offer around half the price. With our free fittings and lack of sneaky hidden extra prices, we certainly bust the myth of expensive modular kitchens.
Versatility in design
One of the defining features of the concrete kitchen is its versatility. Unlike traditional materials such as marble or granite, which can be more expensive and difficult to customise, our concrete sand reproduction and concrete grey reproduction worktops are made from laminate. However, this doesn’t mean the quality is any worse than the likes of marble, the laminate that we use is manufactured to withstand a heat of 180 degrees centigrade without scorching or otherwise damaging the surface. From countertops to backsplashes, to cabinet decors, the concrete look can be incorporated into various elements of the kitchen, allowing for integration with any design style.
A modern yet timeless choice
With its clean lines and minimalist sensibility, the concrete look exudes a timeless look. Whether you prefer a monochromatic colour scheme or bold pops of colour, the versatility of the concrete aesthetic allows for endless customisation, ensuring that each kitchen is a reflection of its owner’s unique style and personality.
The rise in popularity of concrete kitchens
Of course, no design trend would be complete without the influence of social media. Platforms such as Instagram and Pinterest have played a significant role in popularising the concrete kitchen aesthetic, with influencers and design enthusiasts showcasing their own interpretations of this contemporary look. From minimalist Scandinavian-inspired designs to industrial loft spaces, the concrete kitchen aesthetic offers endless inspiration for those looking to refresh their home decor.
So why not embrace the concrete kitchen aesthetic in your own home? Book a design consultation today.
